Top Gear viewers rip into 'pathetic' finale – and have a big demand for bosses ahead of next series | The Sun
TOP Gear viewers have ripped into last night's finale episode and have branded it "pathetic".
This series saw presenters Freddie Flintoff, Chris Harris and Paddy McGuinness celebrate 100 years of the BBC by tackling 1920s-style motorsport.
Plus, with electric cars becoming a more common sight on the roads, the team investigated the future of fuel.
This week Paddy and Chris were on a mission to prove that going green is the way forward – by looking at battery, hydrogen and synthetic petrol power.
Meanwhile, Harris drove old-school sports cars — Maserati’s new supercar and a Lotus with an oblong steering wheel.
However, viewers at home have not been impressed by the final episode.

One wrote: "We’ll have to agree to disagree on this Peter. I love you but the current presenters are awful except for @harrismonkey and the producers are putting forward dross with no imagination and dragging out sad pathetic ideas."
Another angry viewer posted: "Is c**p now I would never watch it now if someone paid me money @thegrandtour all the way. #TopGear"
But some viewers have called for bosses to produce more episodes for the next series.
One wrote: "Not enough episodes need to make more in a series please. #TopGear"

Another echoed: "Series always far too short. #TopGear"
A third agreed: "Please make more episodes next time Paddy, feels like the series is so short compared to the old ones."
It comes after viewers were forced to "switch off" after just one episode earlier this month.
The trio returned for the 32nd series of the BBC motoring series – but fans have called for the BBC to axe the show.
The new season featured a road trip to Florida to compete in some wacky races, Freddie bobsleighing in a Sinclair C5, and the lads putting their dream TV cop cars through their paces.
They got about in a gas-guzzling motorhome but got stuck in mud.
Then Harris sprained his ankle and completed the show on crutches.
However, viewers were not impressed by the new series and branded it old-fashioned.
One wrote: "#TopGear had gone massively downhill. Bring back Clarkson, Hammond and May to sort it out."
Another posted: "#TopGear flogging a dead horse! It’s all been done before and much better too!"
But other fans were thrilled with the new instalment, with one writing: "Bloody love #TopGear. One footed Harris looked like he enjoyed that last race."
Another posted: "Never took to these guys after replacing Clarkson & Co. I’ve never laughed so much watching these guys tonight. Well done Boys."
A third added: "I absolutely love #TopGear What an amazing start to the new series. Them 3 just click together."
Some fans have really taken to the trio since they first hosted together in 2018.
