Two shock exits, death tragedy and big secret: All EastEnders Christmas spoilers
It’s the most wonderful time of the year!
Well, that is unless – like the EastEnders residents – you live in Albert Square, where all hell tends to break loose over the festive season.
This year is no different in that respect, as fans of the BBC One soap can expect chaos aplenty, with two huge exits, multiple death traumas and a number of potential proposals on the cards.
Talk about unmissable!
The moment we’ve all been waiting for takes centre stage, as scheming Janine Butcher’s (Charlie Brooks) crimes are exposed in an explosive fashion, and the subsequent events set in motion both her own and Mick Carter’s (Danny Dyer) exit.
But what EXACTLY happens? Well, you needn’t wait until Christmas Day to find out all the gossip, as Metro.co.uk has just about everything you could possibly need to know about Walford’s Xmas offerings.
So, get yourself in the festive spirit, sit back and enjoy the drama.
Janine is caught out
Janine has got away with her crimes for far too long, and on Christmas morning, Shirley sets out to bring her down – once and or all.
Shirl however, is struggling to piece the puzzle together, but with Linda by her side she heads to The Vic, where they make peace with Mick over recent events.
Janine, meanwhile, finds herself distracted as she spots Jada Lennox returning home for a festive lunch with Sharon and – determined to stop Linda from crossing paths with her – she invites both Linda and Shirley to stay for Christmas dinner, which comes as a big shock to them both.
But the bigger shock is yet to come.
Shirley begins to quiz Janine over lunch, hopeful to expose her, and an argument ensues as clever Janine frustratingly shrugs off all of the accusations.
Scarlett (Tabitha Byron), however, walks in. Will she reveal the truth about her mum’s wicked ways? Or will it be Jada and Sharon tasked with spilling the beans?
Either way, secrets and lies are finally exposed, and Mick’s world crumbles around him as he’s finally forced to face the harsh reality that is his life, seeing Janine for who she truly is at last.
Mick and Janine’s deadly exit
What exactly transpires in the wake of the truth coming out remains to be seen, but Christmas Day proves to be Mick’s last in Walford.
Is he and Janine set to die as a clifftop showdown ends in disaster? Or will true love prevail as he and Linda reunite?
The events of Christmas Day sends shockwaves through the Square, with the residents of Walford waking up the following morning, confused to discover that The Vic isn’t opening – as news continues to spread about what transpired the day before.
Phil’s rage as Kat and Alfie grow closer
Alfie is determined to spend Christmas with his family, and he’s got a festive surprise in store for Kat and the boys.
But what is it, we hear you ask? Why, he only intends on dressing up as Santa and abseiling from the roof, of course.
His plot doesn’t exactly go as planned, but he will seemingly have bigger fish to fry, as Phil learns from Bert that Kat has agreed to let Alfie stay until the New Year, and it’s safe to say that he’s livid!
The hard-man later spots Alfie up on the roof, but just what will he do next?
That remains to be seen, but chaotic events ensue over the dinner table as Phil finds out what exactly has happened in his absence.
Jay proposes to Lola
Lola wakes up on Christmas morning to the welcomed sight of Lexi opening her presents, and Jay subsequently hands her a lovely gift.
Billy, meanwhile, is quick to commend Jay for sticking by Lola, and Jay – touched – takes the opportunity to reveal his plan, admitting that he’s going to pop the question.
Jay enlists the help of best mate Ben, who helps him organise an outdoor Christmas miracle, before getting down on one knee, asking Lola for her hand in marriage – but will Lola say yes?
Kim destroys her family’s festive dinner
Kim causes chaos when she insists on taking charge of Christmas Day for her family, and subsequently destroys the family’s lunch.
Denise is quick with a solution, however, suggesting that they pop over to the Mitchells with Raymond in tow, throwing themselves at their mercy. Kim refuses to beg Phil for anything, but Denise puts her foot down.
In typical Walford fashion, bickering ensues and drama is aplenty, but the blended family manage to make their unconventional Christmas celebrations work.
Sam’s secret revealed
Sam finds an upset Phil – hot off making a discovery – sitting in the dark at Peggy’s, but she’s taken aback by the sight before her, as she attempts to convince her brother to give Kat another chance.
Phil isn’t sure about what to do, but Sam is determined to make him see that he has a future with Kat, going as far as having a word with Kat herself, reiterating that Phil has been loyal to her and therefore she should return the favour.
Sam, however, will soon have other problems to contend with, as she’s forced to makes it her mission to ensure Phil doesn’t find out what she got up to in Spain.
But it’s soon too late, as Phil learn the truth for himself, and it’s safe to say that he’s furious with his little sister.
The question is: just what has she done?
Harvey proposes to Jean?
Jean and Freddie enjoy a boardgames night towards the end of the year, and Bobby soon gets roped in too.
During the evening, however, Harvey arrives, and the boys ditch Jean for a party. Jean, meanwhile, invites Harvey in and they subsequently have a lovely evening, which ends with a kiss.
Afterwards, Jean frets about the possibility of Harvey getting cold feet. To complicate matters further, Stacey sees Harvey showing Martin a ring-sized box!
But is a proposal on the cards?
Lily and Eve dead?
A New Year party at the Slaters end in tragedy, as both Lily and Eve collapse in shocking scenes.
The ambulances are summoned and Bobby alerts the paramedics, who tell everyone to evacuate the house immediately. It’s a carbon-monoxide leak!
Stacey rushes to hospital to be by Lily’s bedside, but will she be okay? Will Eve for that matter?
Nish and Ben go to war
Eve seemingly regains consciousness, and she’s cagey with Nish, who reckons that the Slaters are going to sue him over the boiler.
The killer distracts himself from the situation with business, determined to strong-arm Ben into doing a deal on the Arches.
Things, however, take an interesting turn, as Ben explains to him that the deal is off – and it’s safe to say that Nish is not pleased!
Zack exits again?
Whitney could face more heartbreak this festive season, as she continues to grow closer to Zack.
Upcoming scenes will see the two spending more and more time together. Whitney is left impressed with Zack’s culinary skills, and when he gives her a foot massage, sparks begin to fly.
Chelsea and Felix encourage Zack to make a go of things with Whit, with Chelsea later telling Whitney to make a move on Zack!
Whitney musters up the courage to do just that, but as she goes to speak to him, Zack reveals that he’s been offered the opportunity of a lifetime.
Is an exit on the cards for Zack?
