Tyson Fury is still too distraught over the murder of his beloved cousin that he cancelled his interview on TalkTV tonight.

The heavyweight champion boxer was due to appear on Piers Morgan Uncensored on Tuesday evening to discuss the death of his cousin, Rico Butler, who was fatally stabbed on a night out in Altrincham, Manchester on Saturday.

Jeremy Kyle, currently filling in for Morgan while the presenter takes a summer break, had informed viewers on Monday night that Fury would be appearing on Uncensored to discuss the tragedy.

However, during Tuesday’s episode, Kyle explained that Fury would no longer be appearing while he tries to come to terms with the horrific news.

Kyle told viewers: ‘Yesterday I told you that Tyson Fury will be joining us on the show today following the tragic death of his cousin Rico Burton, who was stabbed to death in Manchester over the weekend.

‘Now Tyson got in touch with the show this morning to say the situation is so raw, he and his family utterly devastated by the loss and he didn’t feel able to come on tonight.’

The talk show host added: ‘We obviously sent Tyson and his family our deepest sympathies and hope very much to have him back on Uncensored when he is ready. That’s an open offer.’

Burton, 31, was stabbed to death in the Goose Green area, a nightlife spot in the north west town, at around 3am on August 21. A 17-year-old man, who has not been identified, was also stabbed but survived after being rushed to hospital.

Greater Manchester Police later confirmed two men aged 21 and 20 had been arrested – one on suspicion of murder and the other on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and murder.

Fury, 34, reacted to the news in an Instagram post with a photo that said ‘stop knife crime’.

He wrote in the caption: ‘My cousin was murdered last night, stabbed in the neck, this is becoming ridiculous idiots carry knives. This needs to stop 🛑 Asap, uk 🇬🇧 government needs to bring higher sentencing for knife crime, its a pandemic & you dont know how bad it is until its 1 of your own!

‘Life is very precious & it can be taken away very quick enjoy every moment🙏RIP RICO BURTON 🙏 may the lord god grant you a good place in heven. see you soon 🔜🙏 #onlycowardscarryweapons.’

Piers Morgan Uncensored airs Monday-Friday on TalkTV at 8pm.
