Valerie's replacement confirmed after emotional exit in Doctors
There is a new face on Doctors, this week. With Valerie (Sarah Moyle) gone and Karen (Jan Pearson) recovering from her recent heart attack, Kirsty Millar (Kiruna Stamell) rides into town to take up her position as the new receptionist.
She makes an immediate impact. Emma (Jan Pearson) initially mistakes her for a patient before Ruhma (Barti Patel) turns up and recognising her from St. Phil’s helps clear up any confusion. Bear (Dex Lee) arrives and has a chat with Kirsty and gives her a tour.
He is impressed by her level of experience and also likes it when she speaks up to correct him on how the system works. Bear clearly has high hopes for her. Emma is less sure. She is put out when Kirsty intervenes in a situation between her and a patient; a situation which Emma already had well under control.
Later in the week, problems between Kirsty and her partner Rich (Richard Atwill) begin to impinge on her first few days at work. The main problem is her son, Ollie (Isaac Benn) who is having a full-blown crisis as to whether he should join the army or not.
At one point, Kirsty becomes so distracted by this that Zara (Elisabeth Dermot Walsh) is forced to cover reception herself. With the situation far from ideal, Kirsty’s continued future at the Mill must be in doubt.
