Waterloo Road return ruined already as fan-favourite is tragically killed off
Waterloo Road fans were left utterly heartbroken following Chlo Charles’ sudden death in the first episode of the BBC One reboot.
On Tuesday (January 3), loyal fans of the beloved coming-of-age series cheered with joy as the long-running show returned to our screens after eight years off air.
And it’s fair to say the opening episode went off with a bang as fans were reunited with loveable characters such as childhood sweethearts Donte and Chlo Charles alongside Kim Campbell acting as the new head teacher.
But the hour-long episode quickly took a turn after the blonde bombshell suddenly died hours after she was hit by a car on the way to school.
Now, fans have been left utterly heartbroken to see the staple character killed off within the first episode as they bid a final farewell to the blonde bombshell.
Taking to Twitter, viewers shared their heartbreak over her short-lived return to the high school TV series.
One user penned: “Not our Chlo dying! It’s like Princess Diana all over again #WaterlooRoad.”
Another agreed: “Chlo has been killed off in the first episode #WaterlooRoad have just made a massive mistake.
“Why bring her back after all these years just to kill her off in Episode 1? Make it make sense [two heart broken emojis, three crying emojis].”
A third fumed: “I'm not watching the next ep. What do you mean Chlo was killed off in the FIRST episode?!! #WaterlooRoad.”
