What MAFS 2021 couples are doing now – baby news to running holiday retreats
Married At First Sight UK made its return last night as the hit reality show's seventh series got underway.
This year, 16 new hopeful singletons are turning to the scientific experts to find them the perfect match, but does it really work?
Last year's explosive season had viewers hooked as record numbers tuned in to watch 16 strangers get married as romance, drama and lots of emotional rollercoasters ensued.
As a new cast are making their way down the aisle, we've taken a look back at the couples matched together on last year's show to see who came out of the social experiment successfully.
Here's who's still together from Married at First Sight 2021.
Tayah and Adam
Tayah Victoria and Adam Aveling are one of the most successful couples to come out of the reality show and the lovebirds are still together.
Adam and Tayah hit it off quickly on the series and established a close connection, despite the fact that Adam had never had a girlfriend before.
MAFS fans were left in tears when Adam proposed to Tayah at the end of the series during their vow renewal, as he admitted that proposing to his own wife was a bit "back to front", but the emotional gesture secured their title as one of the favourite couples from the season.
Not only are Adam and Tayah still together, they're also starting a family and are currently expecting a baby girl.
Dan and Matt
Daniel McKee, 28, and 40-year-old Matthew Jameson became the first same-sex couple on the popular E4 show last year, and despite initial fears about their 12-year age gap, the couple are thriving.
Matt has since moved from Leeds to Northern Ireland to be with Dan and they currently live in Portstewart, where they run Wildbay Retreats together.
Opening up about their relationship in an interview with Belfast Live recently, Dan said: "[The show] was a real whirlwind adventure. I went in with true intentions to find someone who I could spend the rest of my life with and lo and behold, it worked out just as I hoped, if not better."
He added: "It was the best decision I ever could have made."
Which couples from Married at First Sight 2021 have split up?
It seems like the success rate of the show last year wasn't too great, as Tayah and Adam and Dan and Matt are the only couples who are still together from series six.
Luke and Morag's pairing didn't work out, with Morag revealing at the reunion that Luke had failed to contact her after the show came to an end, while he said that he felt "used" by Morag.
Marilyse and Franky initially stayed together after the show and their relationship seemed strong during the reunion but they have since decided to split, with Franky returning to Dubai and Marilyse living now living in Yorkshire with her two sons.
She explained that they didn't end on bad terms as she told The Sun: "A few weeks after the reunion we went our separate ways, we didn't even fall out, we just mutually agreed that maybe we were not each other's future."
Josh and Amy had a clear connection from the start but their romance on the show was a fiery one as they had some explosive arguments.
They decided to stay together at the end of the experiment but have now gone their separate ways.
Megan and Bob had a turbulent relationship on the show, which went down hill quickly after Megan admitted to kissing another participant, Jordan Mardell.
It came as no surprise that they later chose to leave the experiment and are not together.
It's also not surprising that Jordon and Alexis didn't end up staying together either; they split shortly after getting back from their honeymoon when Jordon cheated on her with Megan.
The moment that Nikita saw her match, Ant, she said: “They’ve just done the total opposite of what I asked for."
Nikita went on to be kicked out of the experiment after a row between the pair saw things escalate and an E4 spokesperson said she displayed a "level of aggression that was unacceptable".
