Whoopi Goldberg rips cue cards on The View in furious outburst
Whoopi Goldberg rips up cue cards in rant over Marjorie Taylor Greene
Whoopi Goldberg has spectacularly hit back at Representative Majorie Taylor Greene in response to her 60 Minutes interview where she claimed “Democrats are a party of paedophiles”. The Georgia-based Republican representative has received major backlash from the interview, which aired on Monday night.
During the chat with Leslie Stahl, Greene claimed the Democratic Party and President Biden “supports children being sexualised and having transgender surgeries, and that’s what paedophiles do to children”.
As a result, the conversation became a major talking point on the daytime talk show, The View.
The group discussed whether giving Greene the platform on a show like 60 Minutes in some way “legitimised” her claims.
As the discussion came to a head, Greene’s pro-gun views and other outlandish remarks were brought into the conversation, prompting Goldberg to officially have enough and refuse to talk about it anymore.
“That woman says she’s a protector of children, but she wants more guns in school,” Goldberg said.
“She saw the Parkland shooting as a ‘false flag’. She said, ‘Oh, no, somebody on my team did it’. If it’s on your stuff, you’ve seen it, you’re aware of it.”
Picking up a collection of cue cards, she read: “[Greene] suggested that Nancy Pelosi be hung for treason. And she agreed with a post that… No, I’m not even going to say that. I’m not gonna say that…”
With that, the furious Goldberg ripped the cards in two.
“This is the nature of people making decisions for your life and it might be a very small area, but it’s a very dumb move,” Goldberg declared.
“We have people on these committees who have no brain power and the capacity to continue to ignore any facts or push back.
“She doesn’t care if you push back on her, she’s of those people who just is going to do what she does.”
As she continued to rip the cards up, Goldberg concluded: “And you know, you don’t have to watch it. I did not. So good night, Marjorie Taylor Greene.”

The live studio audience then clapped her stance as the show cut to a commercial.
During the Parkland shooting on February 14, 2023, 17 people were killed and 17 others were injured when 19-year-old Nikolas Cruz opened fire at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.
In 2021, Greene went viral after filming herself confronting David Hogg – a survivor of the shooting – as he visited the Capitol to discuss gun control.
In the video, Greene followed Hogg as she asked him about “red flag laws” claiming he was using “children as a barrier” and claimed “if the resource officer at Parkland did his job then Cruz wouldn’t have killed anybody in the high school”.
She then made baseless claims that he was “funded to do this”. Hogg refused to say a word to her.
Greene has also vocally shared conspiracy theories including more baseless claims that Donald Trump won the 2020 US election, wearing a facemask saying so.
Greene has since become a divisive face in American politics, making a series of outlandish claims against Democratic politicians.
The View airs weekdays on ABC in the USA.
