Bark seat driver! Dog is photographed doing 38mph behind the wheel on German speed camera
- A daredevil dog has been spotted behind the wheel in Rheinbach, Germany
A daredevil dog has been spotted behind the wheel of a speeding car going 38mph, leaving police officers speechless.
Footage from a speed camera on a country road in Rheinbach, near Cologne, Germany, showed a dog appearing to be sat in the driver’s seat – going at speeds faster than the law allowed.
The small car was speeding 7mph hour over the designated speed limit on the road.
Police officers were shocked to have caught the pooch, who appears to be concentrating very hard, breaking the law.
The dog had most likely moved a bit over from the passenger seat at the exact moment the speed camera flashed, hiding the driver’s face.

But because the owner’s face was not caught on camera, they may be able to avoid a fine as police could not identify who was driving the vehicle.
A police spokesperson told Bild: ‘The fine notice is on its way. 11kmph is too much in town, you will probably have to pay 50 euros.
‘But since the unknown speed offender could not be identified, he or she could get away with it.’
In Germany, dogs are allowed to travel in the car next to you, so long as they are wearing a seatbelt.
The dog in this photo appears to be buckled up in compliance with the law.
Smaller dogs, are required to be carried in cases while travelling in a vehicle.
