Bloke leads cops on 145mph car chase minutes after being banned from driving
A man banned from driving took police officers on a 145mph car chase just minutes after his ban was pushed through the court.
Jason Ryder, 45, was behind the wheel of his Audi A3 just a few short minutes after a judge banned the man from driving, having his licensed revoked for drug-driving.
Racing down the North Yorkshire roads and the A1, Ryder weaved in and out of traffic with police in hot pursuit of the man from Bishop Auckland, County Durham.

York Crown Court has since heard the 45-year-old admit to dangerous driving, driving without insurance and driving while disqualified.
Taking police on a 17-minute car chase, Ryder "manoeuvred around" a heavy-goods vehicle and sped his way onto the A1 before "moving across all lanes" and travelling "at speeds of over 130mph in a 70mph zone."
He even managed to pick up speeds of 140mph on wet road surfaces in what was called a "split-second" decision by mitigating barrister Gabrielle Wilks.
Recorder Anthony Hawks has since described Ryder's actions and driving as "appalling" and noted he could easily have killed someone.
He said: "The circumstances of the dangerous driving are extremely serious, both as to how it started and the actual driving itself. I reject entirely the suggestion put forward that you didn't understand the disqualification ran immediately.

"You had been disqualified before. You must have realised that following your conviction and sentence, you were a disqualified driver.
"At any time during the 17-minute police chase, you could have come to your senses and stopped, but you didn't. You were driving at speeds up to 140mph. It's extraordinary that nobody was seriously injured or killed."
Ryder has since been jailed for 10 months and was handed a 23-month driving ban.
Traffic officer Paul Cording of North Yorkshire Police said: "It is extremely fortunate that no one was injured as a result of Ryder's actions."
