AT LEAST four children have been killed after a man armed with an axe went on a rampage at a nursery in Brazil.
The 25-year-old man arrived at the preschool in Blumenau in Santa Catarina on a motorbike before leaping over the wall and storming the building.
The attack happened this morning at the Cantinho do Bom Pastor preschool in the Velha area.
Video footage shared online shows emergency services outside the school as parents escort their kids away.
Other footage too horrifying to show appears to show bodies under sheets in the playground.
The suspected attacker left four children dead before turning himself into the police, authorities said.

The young victims were three boys and a girl aged between 5 to 7 years old, G1 reports.
A fifth child is said to be in serious condition while four other casualties were taken to Santo Antonio Hospital.
Police said a 25-year-old man responsible for the attack had been arrested.
The police are currently working to determine whether there are more people involved in the attack.

Images broadcast on television showed weeping parents outside the private daycare centre.
Worried parents were pictured people waiting behind a security cordon as an officer asked the crowd to remain calm.
President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva called the attack a "monstrosity", dubbing it an "unacceptable, absurd act of hate and cowardice" against "innocent, defenceless children," in a Twitter post.
Santa Catarina state's Gov. Jorginho Mello confirmed the killings in the city of Blumenau on his Twitter account.
"It is with immense sadness that I received the terrible news that the Good Shepherd preschool in Blumenau was invaded by a murderer who attacked children and employees.
"Unfortunately, four were killed," he said in a statement, declaring three days of mourning.
Last week, a student in Sao Paulo stabbed a teacher, killing her, and also wounding several others.
"May God comfort the hearts of all families in this moment of deep pain," Gov. Mello wrote on Twitter.
Blumenau, a city of 366,000 people, is famous for its annual Oktoberfest festival.
