THERE has been a major update in the Bournemouth double tragedy as all boat operations are suspended following the deaths of two kids.
Sunnah Khan, 12, and Joe Abbess, 17, tragically died when they got into difficulty on the water near Bournemouth Pier on Wednesday.
Their cause of deaths were yesterday ruled as a result of drowning.
Eight others survived and were treated by paramedics with some being taken to hospital after being pulled ashore.
Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole council has today made the announcement all boats from the pier are suspended while cops continue their investigations.
It comes after a 78ft boat — the Dorset Belle — was impounded after the incident.

However, it is not clear what role police believe the vessel — still held at Poole Harbour — played in the tragedy.
Detective Chief Superintendent Neil Corrigan said officers were keeping an “open mind around the circumstances”.
He said: “One of those lines of inquiry has involved the pleasure boat, which was in the area at the time of the incident. These inquiries also include examining wind, other weather and general coastal conditions at the time.
“We are working with experts from partner agencies to understand all of the factors and this will take time to establish.”

It is now believed the children were playing on a sandbar before being tipped off by the wash of a passenger ferry.
Sources have told The Sun they had waded out to the bank but were caught by a rip current unleashed as the Dorset Belle came into berth at the pier.
A beachgoer yesterday described seeing a riptide form in the sea just before tragedy struck.
A man in his 40s who was “on the water” at the time was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and bailed.
