Britain told to seize £6m mansion 'linked to Russian missile-maker'

Britain is urged to seize sprawling £6m Surrey mansion ‘that belongs to daughter of Russian businessman linked to factory used to make missiles to bomb Ukraine’

Britain has been urged to seize a £6m mansion in Surrey owned by the family of a top Russian missile-maker.

Mkrtich Okroyan, 57, is chief designer of the Soyuz factory, which makes engines for the lethal KH-22 weapons used by Vladimir Putin to devastate Ukraine.

Dozens have been killed by strikes in Kremenchuk and Odessa, while 46 people, including six children, were left dead following an attack on an apartment building in Dnipro last month.

Now associates of jailed Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny are demanding Britain and the West take further action against Okroyan and his daughter Anna, who owns the mansion in Virginia Water. 

Companies House records show Okroyan is listed as being a ‘resident’ of the United Kingdom, despite claims by Navalny’s team that he has an active role with Soyuz in Putin’s war machine.

It comes as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky touched down in the UK yesterday to meet Rishi Sunak and reiterate his call for fighter jets.

As well as Kh-22s, the plant can also provide engines for the Kh-59 and Kalibr missiles which have been used throughout the war.

‘Okroyan is one of the instigators of this war,’ said the Navalny team report.

‘The Soyuz factory, Okroyan’s overseas companies, and his entire family should be sanctioned, and their English assets seized. They were bought in blood.’

The team stated: ‘The mansion was bought in 2020 for almost six million pounds, or half a billion roubles. Its only owner is Anna Mkrtichevna Okroyan.’

Title register documents seen by MailOnline confirm Ms Okroyan purchased the property for £5,750,000 in March of that year. 

She had been earlier a director of Soyuz, at the age of 22, Navalny’s associates claim – also stressing that neither Soyuz nor Okroyan have been sanctioned. 

Okroyan and his wife Alla Baban are both listed as UK residents in official documents, and are also the registered owners of a business in Poland, another NATO country.

Ms Okroyan’s home in Virgina Water is listed as the registered office address for British company Bento Minerals, which specialises in production of chemical raw materials for construction, water treatment and animal feed.

Okroyan actively attends military forums, involving other military corporations involved in Putin’s war.

He has received a diploma signed by Russian defence minister Sergei Shoigu.

As the one-year anniversary of the conflict approaches, Britain has sanctioned more than 1,300 individuals and entities associated with Putin.

Companies House documents show that Bento Minerals has been dormant since 2017.
