‘Bulldog’ owner is hunted by police after a man was left with ‘significant injuries’ and one of his own pets died in vicious attack

A female bulldog owner is being hunted by police after her dog left a man with ‘significant’ injuries and his own pet killed in a vicious attack on a beach. 

Police say the man was with his two small dogs when they were set upon by a bulldog walked by a mystery woman on the sand at Lower Pennar, Pembroke Dock, west Wales.

One of the man’s dogs was killed – and he suffered ‘significant injuries’ to his hands as he battled to save his beloved animals.

The female owner of the bulldog is being sought by detectives following the attack. 

She is said to have been walking two dogs described as bulldogs – one on a lead and one not – on the Pembrokeshire beach.

A spokeswoman for Dyfed-Powys Police said: ‘On April 5 at 2pm a male was walking in the vicinity on the beach area of Lower Pennar with two small dogs when both he and his dog were attacked by another dog. 

‘The person has suffered significant injuries to his hand and one of the dogs has died as a result of the attack.

‘Police are appealing for any witnesses that saw a female walking two dogs and to also encourage the female with these dogs to come forward and assist police with their enquiries.

‘The female was wearing a bobble hat, in her mid thirties, she had two dogs which are described as bulldogs, one on the lead, one off, one of the dogs was grey with white around its nose.

‘The other dog on the lead was darker in colour.’

Police asked any potential witnesses to get in contact.
