Cannibal pleads guilty after killing Grindr date and eating his testicles
A cannibal has pleaded guilty to murder and mutilation of a dead body having eaten his Grindr date's testicles after hanging his victim up by the ankles.
Mark Latunski, from the US county of Shiawassee in Michigan, has confessed to killing 25-year-old hairstylist Kevin Bacon after hooking up with him through the dating app that is primarily used by gay, bisexual and trans men.
The accused had previously pleaded not guilty, claiming a defence of insanity due to his long history of mental illness.

Police found Bacon hanging upside down from the ceiling of Latunski's home after he had been reported missing by his family when he failed to turn up for breakfast on Christmas Day in 2019 as planned.
Bacon's roommate told officers that he had been on a date the night before – Christmas Eve – which led them to their grisly finding, with the victim's throat slit and testicles removed.
The accused subsequently confirmed that he had killed Bacon with a knife, before cooking and eating his testicles.
Speaking on local television station WILX, Bacon's father Karl said: "He obviously got into something he wasn't prepared for. We all make mistakes.
"It's gut wrenching to hear the details and we're just beside ourselves. Those who knew him knew he loved and cherished everyone he touched and he touched a lot of lives in the past."
Police have also been investigating Latunski's wider bondage and sadomasochism background with two previous Grindr dates having reportedly fled his home just a couple of months before Bacon's death, although commenting on those incidents, David Kaiser, a Michigan State Police first lieutenant, told the Washington Post: "If those are consensual and we don't have a victim, then you don't have a crime. A lot of times what we're learning is people within [BDSM] culture are very private and don't want to share a lot of information."
Police have, however, urged any other potential victims of criminal acts by Latunski to come forward.
Grindr, meanwhile, issued a statement saying it was "heartbroken and horrified" by the incident and "fully committed to working with law enforcement".
In December 2019 the actor Kevin Bacon also offered condolences on Instagram to the friends and family of his namesake.
"For obvious reasons I'm thinking this morning about the friends and family of this young person Kevin Bacon," he wrote.
