Cops release CCTV image of suspect after man in his 20s raped in Newcastle | The Sun

POLICE have released a CCTV image of a suspect they wish to speak to after a man in his 20s was raped.

The cops today released the image on Twitter in the hopes of tracking down the man who they believe is linked to the crime.

They said the horror unfolded between 3am-4am on December 30, in Rusty's Bar, Newcastle.

Police said the man sexually assaulted the victim inside the bar, before raping him.

Officers are now pleading for the public's help to find the man.

Northumbria Police said: "We received a report a man in his 20s had been raped by another man following a night out at the bar on Times Square.

"It was reported the offender sexually assaulted the victim touching him without consent before proceeding to rape him while inside the premises.

"It's believed the offender exposed himself to the victim outside of the venue before sexually assaulting him and leaving the area.

"The incident was later reported to police and an investigation was launched by detectives from our Safeguarding Department.

"The victim is being supported by specially-trained officers. A wide range of enquiries have been carried out, including a review of CCTV.

"As part of their extensive enquiries, we have today issued the image of a man they would like to speak to.

"It's believed he was in the area at the time of the incident and could have info.
