King Charles has only rehearsed his coronation once – and not in his ceremonial robes, it was claimed today.
Despite King Charles III’s coronation being just 23 days away, there reportedly been a ‘catalogue of late problems’.
The King and Queen Consort have only had one rehearsal of the 90-minute proceedings so far, The Telegraph revealed.
However, it is understood that this ‘walk-through’ was neither timed nor done in ceremonial dress.
This ‘informal’ rehearsal happened at Buckingham Palace, where a to-scale stage was put up to replicate Westminster Abbey, where he will be crowned.

This revelation comes just a day after the Daily Mirror reported that the plans for the May 6 ceremony are ‘in chaos’ as ‘a rehearsal overran significantly’.
Despite the rumoured problems, the palace is ‘confident’ that King Charles’s Coronation will ‘go to plan’, an insider insisted.
It also claimed that an ’emergency’ ramp had been built due to fears that King Charles III might stumble when wearing the ceremonial robes.
While a palace spokesman admitted that a ramp had been built for the monarch, he told The Telegraph that it ‘has always been part of the design from the outset, not in any way because of fears the King may stumble’.
The ramp has reportedly been chosen over steps to allow the heavy Coronation gown to ‘glide’ over the floor.
Between now and May 6, royal aides are thought to be organising a ‘crescendo’ of rehearsals, with the full dress rehearsal at Westminster Abbey supposedly happening on April 29.

An Arsenal match was scheduled for the same evening but has since been moved to the following Tuesday due to anti-social behaviour and crime associated with late kick-offs, Met Police said as it denied rumours that the rescheduling of the game was because of the Coronation.
