Cosmetic doctor and Cleo bachelor contender suspended after assault charges

A Melbourne cosmetic doctor will face court next week on assault charges involving a woman.

Dr Richard George Young, 54, was charged with recklessly causing injury and unlawful assault of a woman, with the matter due to be heard in the Moorabbin Magistrates Court on November 30.

Dr Richard Young has been suspended.

A former Cleo bachelor of the year nominee, Young specialises in “anti-ageing injectables and overall skin health” at Vogue Medical in South Yarra.

The medical industry regulator recently suspended Young’s registration.

Young was a Cleo bachelor of the year contender.

Dr Young, a former Ivanhoe Grammar student and University of Melbourne graduate, is limited to 44 hours of practice a week, can only work at the Vogue Medical clinic, and must provide the regulator with access to Medicare and billing records.

Victoria Police declined to comment on the criminal charges laid against Young while the matter was before court.

A receptionist at Vogue Medical told The Age that Young was on personal leave.

In August, Young advised clients on his business’ Instagram account that he “had an urgent personal matter arise and has taken leave as a result”.
