Horrified customer spots seven rats crawling all over a bin in a McDonald’s car park
- The customer spotted the rats at a McDonald’s in Hull, East Yorkshire, last week
- They claimed a member of staff wearing no PPE emptied the bin afterwards
A horrified customer claimed to spot seven rats crawling over a bin in a McDonald’s car park and has vowed never to eat there again.
The unnamed customer posted a photo of at least five rats climbing around a bin outside a McDonald’s in Hull, East Yorkshire, and claimed it happened last Wednesday at around 6pm.
They also alleged a member of staff emptied the bin without wearing any PPE shortly after the rats left.
The unnamed customer posted on Facebook: ‘Feel free to share before someone gets seriously unwell!!! Rat for tea anyone?! Well to be precise 7 rats!! Talk about vermin control?!
‘After seeing this, I will NOT be using McDonald’s on Holderness Road. A member of staff went and changed the bin bag without any PPE on and returned into the restaurant.’

The customer told HullLive: ‘I am aware that where there are fast food places and where there is food waste, there will be vermin, but this is something else. This isn’t good vermin control when you can witness this in broad daylight.’
It comes after a woman filmed a rat scurrying across a table at a McDonald’s in Tilbury, Essex, in January.
A McDonald’s spokesman said: ‘We take cleanliness and hygiene very seriously. Pest control experts recently carried out a routine inspection of the site and confirmed there has been no evidence of pest-related activity in the restaurant.
‘We are working with the landlords to proactively manage any potential challenges arising from the nearby railway area. The restaurant itself has not been impacted.’
