Trump demands that Alvin Bragg resign for ‘illegally leaking’ details of indictment
A furious Donald Trump erupted on Monday night after details of his indictment were leaked ‘illegally’ – and he demanded Manhattan’s district attorney resign as a result.
Trump, who is staying at Trump Tower in New York City ahead of today’s historic arraignment, called for DA Alvin Bragg to prosecute himself after he allegedly handed the indictment plans to Yahoo journalist Michael Isikoff.
The new report claims that Trump will face a total of 34 felonies.
Some of the indictment’s contents were previously known, but Trump used it as a vehicle to once again blast the historic criminal charges that required him to fly to his former hometown to surrender to authorities.
Donald Trump arraignment day: How the former president’s date with history will play out
A new chapter in American history will be written today when Donald Trump becomes the first former US president to appear in court facing criminal charges.
Trump’s unprecedented journey will begin when he departs his Trump Tower penthouse in Midtown Manhattan at around 10.30am – closely guarded by his Secret Service detail – for an 11am arrival at District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office downtown.
Once inside and away from the glare of the world’s media, the 76-year-old is expected to have his fingerprints taken but will likely avoid the humiliation of having to pose for a mugshot, according to reports last night.
Trump will be ushered into the Manhattan Criminal Courthouse, which is inside the same building as Bragg’s office, for the landmark arraignment hearing.
All the while, law enforcement officials will be praying that the inevitable swell of protesters outside – a mixture of MAGA fans and anti-Trump activists – remain peaceful. A huge security operation will be underway, with thousands of NYPD cops on standby in case violence breaks out.
