Vladimir Putin’s troops have been caught on camera beating each other in a mass brawl on a military base in Siberia. Footage believed to have be recorded by a Russian soldier overlooking the fight shows a large group of drunken conscripts trading blows as officers attempt to regain control. 

The man holding the camera said: “Mobilised men are fighting crowd on crowd.

“Look… they are even dragging some of them to the fields.

“Some are jumping over here across a fence. This is a really tough fight.

“Those who pass out are dragged away. They are beating each other really, really hard.

“They are just crushing the guys.

“Some needs assistance, help.”

“These guys are from intelligence,” he added.

“They are knocking down [the mobilised soldiers].

“They are taking some of them away to the parade ground.

“Some of the [mobilised) are getting taped.

“This is what they are doing to the drunks.”

It comes as a retired US General blasted the “chaotic” conduct of Russian forces after footage emerged of Putin’s troops overturning their armoured vehicle during an undisciplined retreat under fire.

The footage, which has not been independently varied, shows a Russian squad hurriedly climbing atop an infantry fighting vehicle in a bid to flee a Ukrainian attack only to be sent flying when the BTR strikes a ditch. 

Mark Hertling told CNN: “They suddenly go off in the ditch probably because some of the soldiers that are on top of the vehicles are blocking the driver’s view. It is just a comedy of errors.

“I mean, these are the kinds of things that soldiers look for in an undisciplined, chaotic mob, not a group of soldiers and this is just representative of what we’ve seen in an untrained force from the very beginning.

“Where in this case, I’m sure there were some soldiers either badly injured or perhaps even killed when that vehicle rolled over, and it was just because they don’t know how to perform the kinds of skills that are expected of soldiers on the battlefield.”
