Girl sexually assaulted as she walked down footpath with pals as cops release CCTV of suspect | The Sun

COPS are on the hunt for a man after a girl was sexually assaulted while walking down a footpath with her two friends.

The victim was attacked on Saturday near Lees Valley, in Oldham, Manchester at around 4.30pm.


Greater Manchester Police stated the girl described walking near Turner Street when she noticed an unusual smell.

Suddenly, a man aged around 19 to 20 years pushed past her, grabbed and then sexually assaulted her, according to the force.

The suspect, captured by CCTV footage, has been described by the victim as white, and of slim build.

It was reported he was wearing black joggers, a black raincoat and black trainers.

The victim said he had very hairy hands but a hood was covering his face at the time of the attack.

The terrified group of friends ran in fear to nearby Turner Street after the incident and called for help.

Detective Inspector Victoria Wade, of Oldham CID, said: “We are hoping that by releasing images of the suspect and the map of the young girl’s journey, it may jog the memories of people living in the area, or indeed those who were visiting the area at the time, as to where they were on Saturday at around 4.30pm.

“We are asking for anyone to come forwards who may be able to provide us with doorbell, dashcam or CCTV footage of the suspect going past, they may be able to help us locate him.

“This is a heinous crime and traumatised a young girl, who was only there to make TikToks with her friends.

"This should not be something that she now has to live with."
