I was furious after being turned away from McDonald's drive-thru – it’s outrageous and others agree | The Sun
TWO pensioners have been left furious after they were turned away from a McDonald's drive-thru – they say it's outrageous and others agree.
Karen Moseley, 67, and Dian Rawlinson, 71, say they regularly visit their local Maccies for a cheeseburger, and have no issues ordering through the drive-thru on their mobility scooters.
But, the pair claim they were turned away from another Lincoln McDonald's, and had to wait outside to be served because they weren't allowed to 'drive-thru'.
The women claim they were shocked as the manager told them people on mobility scooters could not be served due to the fast-food giant's insurance policy.
Karen said: "They shouldn’t have done that. Just because I am disabled in a wheelchair.
"I felt really upset about it all. I have got a license plate on the front of mine. It’s all registered."

The pair often treat themselves to a cheeseburger, to "line their stomachs" before taking medication, by zipping through the drive-thru.
But, they couldn't believe what unfolded on Wednesday.
Karen said they had to wait outside because they couldn't get their scooters inside the restaurant and struggle to walk.
She said someone came outside to take their order, and by the time it was handed to them, it was "cold".

The 67-year-old said: "We waited in the car park and a man eventually came out to take our order and brought it out.

Dian added: "I was upset and hurt by it. I felt as if I was discriminated against because of my age.
"I am 71 and I have had a stroke. That’s why I find it difficult standing and walking around sometimes."
The ladies say they have complained to the McDonald's, as they were confused why using the drive-thru was a problem at one joint, but not the other.
The Sun Online has contacted McDonald's for comment.
This comes just days after McDonald's customers were left fearing for their lives during a terrifying Halloween stunt.
Families were confronted by a knife-wielding Michael Myers lookalike prowling the car park and stalking the drive-thru queue.
