World-renown journalist Bernard Kalb has died at the age of 100.
He died at his home in North Bethesda, Maryland, on January 8 after suffering complications from having a fall, his family said.
In a career that spanned over six decades, Kalb worked for CBS, NBC, The New York Times, and hosts of other newspapers and media outlets before his retirement.
He was once an Army journalist during World War Two, before traveling to the South Pole, Hong Kong, and China for a host of different assignments.
In 1986, he stepped down from his position as a State Department spokesman to protest a government disinformation campaign.
