King Charles ‘could strongarm Sussexes into dropping royal titles’, warns expert
King Charles could be forced to strongarm his youngest son Prince Harry into giving up his royal titles, an expert has claimed.
Writing in news.com.au, commentator Daniela Elser explained how the path had been cleared for Charles to prevent the use of Harry and Meghan’s titles in a similar fashion to the way the Sussexes and Prince Andrew had lost their HRH titles.
And now, with King Charles stripping Prince Andrew of royal perks, Harry and Meghan are exposed without their “‘what about Andrew’ safety net”.

She claims the general consensus in the British population has become increasingly strong against the idea of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex holding on to their titles.
Citing polling data, Elser writes how, prior to the Duke’s release of his memoir Spare, 44% of the British population wanted him to relinquish his title.
Following that, she quotes data from the Mirror in which 95% of respondents said they thought his dukedom should be “revoked”.
But while Daniela noted it would need a parliamentary vote to strip Prince Harry of his Sussex title or Prince Andrew of his York, the easier route might be to simply get them to stop using them through “strongarming”.

She said: “However, what Charles could do is, a la their HRHs, strongarm them into agreeing to no longer using them.
“(It probably goes without saying that could have serious implications for their money-making ability in the years to come.)
“Until now, that seemed like a remote possibility, given that the monarch could not take such a hard-line approach with the Sussexes while Toad of Toad Hall, sorry, I meant Andrew, was swanning about the empty golf links still holding onto his dukedom.”
She added: “Now, we are facing the possibility that Charles is about to go after his brother’s royal perks and really relegate him to second-string status.
“And if His Majesty is willing to come down hard on him, then that leaves Harry and Meghan without their ‘what about Andrew’ safety net."
