Limbani, a six-year-old chimpanzee who lives in Miami has become an internet sensation for his artwork that can fetch up to $1,000. 

He has more than 700,000 Instagram followers and loves to show off his artwork, in addition to his skateboarding skills. He also enjoys a popsicle here and there. 

The young chimp was originally rejected by his mother as a baby after having pneumonia. The animal now calls the Zoological Wildlife Foundation in Miami home. 

Since showing a passion for artwork and painting, Limbani – which means strong in Swahili – has garnered the nickname Chimpcasso by the Zoological Wildlife Foundation’s founders Mario and Maria Tabraue. 

‘I am constantly in awe of the curiosity that Limbani shows to creating art and the passion he has shown down to the color choices he uses truly shows how developed he is at six,’ Mario said.

Maria said painting allows his senses to be activated and has been a huge factor in his development. 

The talented painter’s art can sell up to $1,000 to collectors. 

On January 13, the chimp was seen preparing many pieces, including a multicolored piece on a black canvas. 

Limbani was handed a clean paintbrush to swirl the dots of paint around into a new creative piece. 

The chimpanzee eagerly took the brush and got to work as he started in on a green dot, spraying it around all over the canvas before dipping into the blues and reds. He varied his brushstrokes with some long and wide while others were thinner and curled at the end. 

The chimp even took a selfie where he gave a half smile to the camera (pictured)

An immersive artist, Limpani stood on top of his canvas as he painted and wasn’t afraid to get down and dirty. 

In another video, the chimp closely inspected his green and blue finger painting as he cleaned down to take a close look. 

He expertly blended the green paint before making an artistic decision to drag his finger across the middle of the canvas, creating a streak of light. 

He also uses his handprints, various brushes, and always loves to pull in bright, vibrant colors into all his work. 

Limbani’s artwork is available to purchase and comes with a certificate of authenticity.

An immersive artist, Limpani often gets down and dirty with his paintings from standing on them, using his handprints to add to pieces, and getting paint all of his hands

Small 8×8 paintings go for $500.00, medium 11×14 go for $700.00, and large: 20×16 go for $1000.00. 

To ship the paintings domestically, it costs $25, while internationally costs $75.  

All proceeds from the sale of Limbani’s art goes towards the building of his forever habitat on property; The Primadome. 

Throughout 2023, the chimp will showcase his work at live shows, alternating between Monday and Wednesday weekly.
