M25 crash: Motorway blocked after pile-up with air ambulance called as police say to avoid area | The Sun
A LARGE stretch of the M25 is closed this morning following a horror multi-vehicle pile up.
Delays of up to 50 minutes are reported between junction 23 South Mimms and junction 22 St Albans anti-clockwise.
National Highways report tailbacks of over five miles along the stretch of the motorway that runs through Hertfordshire.
Emergency crews raced to junction 22 around 6.20am this morning following the smash.
According to traffic tracker Inrix, multiple lorries were involved in the collision and a van has overturned.
It is unclear if anyone was injured in the pile up.
But an air ambulance is reportedly en route and drivers are being asked to avoid the area.
Diversions are now in place to ease the miles-long backlog.
The Sun have approached Hertfordshire Police and the Ambulance service for comment.
