A MAN has been charged with the murder of an 11-year-old boy who was found injured near a country park in Derbyshire.
Michael Harrison, 41, from Nottingham, has been charged with murder after the boy was found fatally injured near Shipley County Park in Heanor on June 18.
Emergency services rushed to Thorpes Road following reports that a person had been hurt.
Despite efforts to save the boy, he died later that day.
Harrison is set to appear at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court today.
He has also been charged with engaging in coercive and controlling behaviour.

Officers from Derbyshire Constabulary and the East Midlands major crime unit will be continuing with their inquiries.
They will remain in the area over next few days.
Police have made an appeal for help locating a white Vauxhall Combo van that may be displaying a registration with either FL54 JBJ, FL54 JDJ or FG57 FTO.
