A MAN has been killed after being hit by a digger, while the driver has been arrested on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter.
Emergency services rushed to a skip yard in Dukinfield, Greater Manchester, where a 42-year-old man was found dead on the morning of March 3.
Cops confirmed the arrest of a 33-year-old man, who was later released under investigation.
The case has been referred to the Health and Safety Executive and the unit was taped off for a number of hours as forensics team swept the site.
A white and red forensic screen was visible inside the cordon, while several crime scene investigation units were pictured outside AMP NW Skip Hire.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "Initial enquiries suggest that the male victim was working onsite at an industrial estate when a excavator vehicle collided with the victim.

"An investigation with the Health and Safety Executive has been launched to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident."
