Man causes huge traffic jam by standing in front of double-decker bus
That’s one way to catch a bus! Man causes huge traffic jam by standing in front of red London double-decker… and his actions have left social media users divided
- Passenger blocked traffic by standing in front of a route 113 bus to Marble Arch
A disgruntled passenger caused a huge traffic jam by standing in front of a London double-decker after having missed the bus.
Video posted to TikTok shows how the man blocked traffic on the busy road, causing a back up for hundreds of metres, by simply planting himself in front of the vehicle.
He argues with the bus driver for several seconds before the operator opens the door to let him get on. The man, seemingly hesitant, briefly waits before jumping onboard and paying for his ticket as the bus drives off.
The passenger’s actions spawned mixed response from witnesses and social media users who seemed puzzled by the risky move.
One said they now ‘know what to do when I miss the bus’, while another argued that their bus driver ‘would just hit me’. Others even said they ‘salute’ the traveller and hailed the video as being ‘much-needed’.

Cameras were rolling as the passenger blocked traffic by standing in front of the Marble Arch bound route 113 bus.
A long queue formed behind the coach as drivers waited patiently for traffic to resume.
‘Look at this. Stopping the bus until you can jump on,’ the TikToker who captured the video joked. ‘Look at the traffic he’s caused.
‘He’s caused traffic just because he couldn’t get on the bus… look at all the traffic.’

Eventually, after what appears to be a negotiation, the bus driver opens the door for the man. He looks worrisome at the entrance, possibly thinking the driver may rush off the moment he moves away, before getting on the vehicle.
The poster, in a video caption, added: ‘I know what to do when I miss the bus now.’
Several TikTokers echoed the poster’s sentiment.

‘Some bus drivers really see you running for that bus and spin off. This is the new way,’ one commented.
‘I can’t lie I have done this before,’ said another. ‘That’s the day I knew I was brave.’
One commenter added: ‘It’s a love/hate relationship w/ london bus drivers! When u least expect it they come through & wait 4 u!’
