MORE clips of Diana's Panorama interview used in Harry & Meghan series
MORE footage of Princess Diana’s controversial interview with shamed BBC journalist Martin Bashir is used in latest volume of Harry and Meghan’s Netflix series… DESPITE William’s calls for boycott of Panorama programme
- Prince William previously said footage of notorious interview should be banned
- Netflix series repeatedly used clips to compare Diana and Meghan’s experiences
- The final three episodes of Harry & Meghan were made available on Thursday
The latest volume of Harry and Meghan’s Netflix series has continued to use clips from Princess Diana’s controversial Panorama interview, which Prince William said should be banned.
In a move likely to enrage the Prince of Wales, the newly-released episodes have again defied his wishes for their mother’s interview with disgraced former BBC presenter Martin Bashir to ‘never be aired again’
The documentary repeatedly broadcast clips from the BBC programme to draw comparisons between Diana and Meghan’s experiences of life in the royal family.
Claiming Meghan came under fire for attracting press attention, the series cuts to clips of Diana talking about the ‘jealousy’ which came with her popularity.

In earlier episodes, Harry claimed his mother had ‘spoken the truth’ in the discredited interview, which William has said holds ‘no legitimacy’.
Apparently ignoring his brother’s wishes, Harry claimed the content of Diana’s interview with Bashir was based on reality.
‘I think she had a lived experience of how she was struggling living that life, she felt compelled to talk about it,’ he said.
‘Especially in that Panorama interview… I think we all now know that she was deceived into giving the interview, but at the same time, she spoke the truth of her experience.’

The decision to use the footage comes despite both brothers previously slamming the BBC over the interview, which they believe sparked their mother’s paranoia and fear.
Last summer, William revealed his ‘indescribable sadness’ that his mother had been manipulated into giving the interview after Bashir was found to have obtained it using ‘deceitful’ means by Lord Dyson’s inquiry.
