Tributes have been pouring in after a Yorkshire mother-of-five suddenly collapsed and died on the school run last week.
Donna Taylor, 38, was suffering from pain in her head when she collapsed at the side of the road in Sowerby Bridge, West Yorkshire, on June 27.
An ambulance was called and paramedics worked for an hour to try to save her life before taking her to hospital where she was declared clinically brain dead.
On June 28 her life support machine was switched off and Ms Taylor passed away.
Her four surviving children, Oliver, 14, Dakota, 12, Ella, five, and Nevaeh, one, are now being looked after by their dad.
She also had another son, Josh, who tragically died when he was just three.
Donna Taylor, 38, had been suffering from headaches and high blood pressure, but her family said her death was a complete shock
She leaves behind four children, Oliver, 14, Dakota, 12, Ella, five, and Nevaeh, one. She also had a fifth child, Josh, who sadly died at just three years old
Ms Taylor’s cousin, Kealy Smith, said she was beloved in the area, always chatting to people, adding that her death came as a shock to everyone.
Kealy said: ‘She was literally just walking her daughter to school and said she got a pain in her head and she ending up collapsing.
‘An ambulance was rung and they were working on her for about an hour at the side of the road.
‘It was very unexpected, she was just taking her daughter to school. She was talking to my uncle the night before.
‘I think everyone was just in shock. How can you go from taking your daughter to school to being gone?’
The local community has seen flower tributes left at the site of Donna’s collapse on Quarry Hill in Sowerby Bridge.
One included a message which read: ‘Thank you for always speaking to us when we first moved to the area.
‘You were the first on the school run, twice a day, to say hello and chat.
‘Sending love and strength to all your family. You will never be forgotten.’
Ms Taylor’s family said she had no plans in place for a funeral or money to give to the children following her death.
Her cousin and the rest of the family set up a GoFundMe page to help raise money for funeral costs, with any extra going to Ms Taylor’s children. It has so far raised £3,400.
They wrote the family are ‘distraught’, adding: ‘For her children’s sake, we would like to give her the best send off possible, as it’s the least she would deserve.
‘At this moment in time, every penny counts and will all be put towards the last celebration of her life.’
Kealy said: ‘They didn’t have much as a family and with her being so young, nothing had been put in place to deal with it. You don’t think of putting together a funeral at 38, so it’s to help with that and anything left over will go to the kids.
‘She spoke to anyone, everyone knew her, everyone is saying the same thing.
‘She was so welcoming, everyone is just in shock.’
Donna was devoted to her children, rarely doing anything for herself, her family said.
Kealy said: ‘Never saw her without her kids, her kids were her whole life, she never did anything for herself.
‘As long as the kids were happy and looked after she was happy.’
