A GRANDMOTHER has blasted reckless drivers after her baby granddaughter was almost killed by a speeding motorist.
Kerry Chambers from Scunthorpe, Lincs, says she fears someone could be left dead as her road is plagued by careless drivers.
The concerned grandma says her daughter Emily Hall and granddaughters – one of whom was just two weeks old at the time – have been left living in fear after a driver smashed into their car.
Ms Chambers, who has lived in the area for 27 years, said: "It's worrying.
"Young people and other drivers have been driving recklessly and speeding up and down the road, between the alleyways from Smithfield Road and vice versa, whether it be cars, motorbikes or scooters.
"My daughter was turning round on our street in the alley and my granddaughter was only a couple of weeks old at the time.

"As she was backing out, a car came from up the street going really fast and just went into the side of her, where my granddaughter was.
"It could have been a lot worse because the car hit the back wheel, but if it had hit the door, it would've gone straight into her. My daughter's car was a write-off."
Ms Chambers says her baby granddaughter was left "in shock" by the incident and her daughter now regularly suffers from anxiety and flashbacks.
And two years ago, Ms Chambers says a young boy was run over in the road and she was forced to compact his head until the ambulance came

She now wants a 20mph speed limit or speed bumps installed to curb the issue along North Parade.
In a bid to get the council's attention, she has launched a petition.
Ms Chambers wrote: "to be worse and many more will be hurt on our street or even lose lives.
"Please, this is the time for help, and something (needs) to be done to make the many residents here live a happier safer life within this area."
Cllr Rob Waltham, leader of North Lincolnshire Council, has said the authority will look into trying to sort the problem.
He said: "I've been made aware of the petition and although we don't have all the details to hand, we'll certainly look into it.
