My son was attacked by bouncer on lads' holiday – he suffered a brain bleed & could have died | The Sun
A SCOTS teenager on a lad's holiday to Greece ended up in hospital after a nightclub bouncer knocked him out.
Conor King, 18, suffered a brain bleed and then a seizure after his head was knocked off a concrete floor outside the Rescue Club in Zante.
He was left unconscious on the floor for about 15 minutes before an ambulance rushed him to get medical help in the early hours of June 15.
Dad Stephen was left fearing for his son's life after the incident, and raced to the hospital bedside of the lad from Peebles.
He said that Conor could have been left brain damaged or dead, and hit out at the bouncer's actions, calling them "disgusting and completely unnecessary".
The 43-year-old told the Daily Record: "We’re fully aware of how easily this could have gone an entirely different way. It’s only by sheer luck that this bouncer isn’t facing a murder charge.
"After he committed that assault, what happened to Conor was completely outwith his control. The fact that Conor didn’t die or suffer permanent brain damage is purely down to luck.
"It doesn’t take away from the seriousness of what he did. His friend’s say he was around 6ft 3 and looked like a bodybuilder. Conor is only 5ft 9 and slim. For a man that size to do that to an 18-year-old boy is disgusting and completely unnecessary."
Conor was floored by the Greek bouncer while at a club with his friends, after being frog marched out of the establishment because of sitting on his friend's shoulders.
The hotel porter's friends claim he wasn't resisting the security staff, but still got punched after being escorted out.

The 18-year-old was rushed to Zakynthos General Hospital for urgent brain scans after the horror incident, where his dad claims he did not receive adequate care.
Stephen said: "I had been speaking to the embassy who warned me that the hospital wasn’t going to be like what we have in Scotland. But it was horrific. At one stage, Conor asked a nurse for a drink of water but was told no.
"He’d have to go downstairs and buy it. I had to help another patient go to the bathroom after he had been shouting for help for 30 minutes. When he first got to the hospital, he suffered a seizure and fell out of bed.
"His friends had to lift him back into it because none of the staff came to help.
"I asked for a copy of his medical records but the doctor refused. I also asked them to contact the police several times so we could report the assault but they also refused."
Three days later Conor flew home with his dad and brother, but had to be signed off work for four weeks.
He is now on seizure medication and will not be able to drive for the next six months.
Rescue Club and Zakynthos General Hospital did not respond to requests for comment from the Daily Record.
