Analysis of over 17 million sales on eBay has uncovered how selling common items can help you make some extra cash – with some making more than $200 a pop.
On average, US coins made $205.32 per listing on the site – the highest overall amount for any item – according to the new study by Self Financial.
Sports merchandise typically made $59.47 per listing for sellers, while action figures and Pokémon cards made an average of $56.92 and $40.10 respectively, it found.
Books are the most frequently sold item on eBay, with over 2.8 million being flogged on the site in just 90 days, but making only around $22 per listing.

US coins were not only the most profitable item, Self Financial found, but they also made the top ten ranking for the highest volume of items sold.
In a 90-day period, some 961,531 coins were bought on eBay. This included individual coins as well as bundles of multiple coins.
It comes after a coin expert revealed to DailyMail.com how some rare coins can sell for millions of dollars at auction – while experts warned Americans to look out for a rare Georgia quarter which could be worth over $7,000 due to a particular production error.
Things sold on eBay can sell for very small amounts or huge sums depending on the item, its rarity, and the kind of person who is looking to buy them. Certain things may not be worth much to the average person, but a collector might be willing to spend a small fortune on a particular item.
Other bestselling items with the highest average selling prices were vinyl records, which sold for an average of $38.55 per listing, collections of collectible game cards at $19.20, DVDs and Blu-ray at $16.90 and individual collectible game cards at an average of $11.87 a listing.
Comic books and manga memorabilia rounded up the top 10, typically going for $8.46 per listing on the auction site.

When it comes to items that have a higher chance of selling on eBay, the study found Samsung products have the highest percentage of successfully sold items.
Some 97 percent of these listings completed with a sale, alongside games consoles which also had a 93 percent chance of selling.
Vintage and antique jewelry, on the other hand, had the highest proportion of unsold listings, with only 4 percent of listed items being snapped up within the 90-day period.
For most casual sellers, it’s free to list their items on the auction site, but if you list more than 250 items per month, you’ll start paying a $0.35 insertion fee per listing.
But if an item sells, eBay keeps a cut of the sale – usually 13.25 percent, plus $0.30 per order.
