NEW CCTV has been released of a man being hunted by police after a woman in her 30s was raped behind a library.

Last week cops released photos of a man they are wanting to speak to after the alleged crime in Hartlepool, County Durham.


They have today published more images of the man in the hopes of tracking him down.

Emergency services rushed to York Road around 4.30am on Saturday April 8, after reports a woman had been raped.

The attacker is being described as about 38 years old, with blonde hair tied in a bun.

He was said to have been wearing grey and black clothing, and spoke with an Eastern European accent.

Cops are now pleading with anyone who knows the man, or witnessed anything on the night, to come forward.

Cleveland Police today said: "Officers are keen to trace the man in the image as he may be able to assist with enquiries.

"It is hoped that witnesses, or someone who knows the man, may recognise him from the new images released and come forward with information.

"Police would also like to appeal to anyone who was in the area around the library or near Loons Bar on Victoria Road around the time of the incident, as it is believed there were people in the area around the time who may be able to assist with enquiries.

"The suspect is described as around 38-years-old with blonde hair in a bun, wearing grey and black clothing. He is believed to have spoken with an Eastern European accent.

"Any witnesses or anyone who may know the identity of the person in the CCTV image, is asked to contact Cleveland Police on 101, quoting incident number 065835."
