New photos show Leslie Jordan looking frail on set of sitcom Call Me Kat days before he died… as it’s revealed he was on way to film show when he suffered fatal ‘heart attack’

Leslie Jordan was snapped looking frail on the set of his new show just days before he died of a suspected heart attack while driving and crashed his BMW into a wall. 

Jordan, 67, was seen sporting purple shades and a purple shirt on Spirit Day – October 20 – while posing with his Call Me Cat co-stars Mayim Bialik, Kyla Pratt, Julian Gant, Cheyenne Jackson and Swoosie Kurtz.

He appeared hunched and uncomfortable in two photos shared.

Jordan is said to have been suffering from shortness of breath in the weeks leading up to his death, and had made an appointment to see a cardiologist – but died before he could attend it.

The 67-year-old comedian died on Monday after suffering a medical emergency while driving, crashing his BMW into the side of a Hollywood building.

It is believed Jordan may have suffered a heart attack while behind the wheel on his way to scheduled filming for Call Me Kat, although his official cause of death is yet to be revealed, reported TMZ.

The gossip site also shared how those working on the show became concerned when the actor, known for his recurring role on hit comedy show Will and Grace, hadn’t arrived more than an hour after his call time.

A scramble to find Jordan revealed that the actor had been in a car accident, and that he’d died.

While it’s unclear if his appointment with a cardiologist would have discovered any underlying health issues, investigators’ told TMZ the current theory remains that he suffered a heart attack while driving.

News of Jordan’s health came just hours after CBS Mornings released one of his final interviews, intended to be aired next week but was instead shared early in light of the tragedy.

In the interview Jordan discussed how his years-long battle with addiction taught him that the best path towards clean living was to be ‘of service’ to other people, and about how following that code had brought him happiness.

Though Jordan gained fame for parts on television shows like Murphy Brown, Will and Grace, American Horror Story, and Call Me Kat, his career saw an unexpected resurgence during the Pandemic through his daily Instagram posts.

The comedian posted short clips – sometimes comedic sketches, other times merely videos of him bemoaning the boredom of lockdown – twice a day for 80 days in a row during the pandemic.

His Instagram following exploded, going from about 80,000 followers to nearly 6million in a matter of weeks, plus an additional 2.3million followers on TikTok.

Shortly before his death Jordan also started an unexpected career as country singer in Nashville.

Following his death there was an outpouring of tributes mourning Jordan.

Fans laid flowers at the crash site mourning the beloved celebrity and came to pay their respect 

Dolly Parton, 76, wrote: ‘Well I am as hurt and shocked as if I have lost a family member. Leslie and I had a special bond.’

Sean Hayes, 52, who played the part of Jack McFarland on Will and Grace, wrote on Twitter: ‘My heart is broken. Leslie Jordan was one of the funniest people I ever had the pleasure of working with. Everyone who ever met him, loved him.’

Meanwhile, Eric McCormack, 59, who starred as Will Truman in the sitcom Will and Grace posted: ‘Crushed to learn about the loss of @thelesliejordan , the funniest and flirtiest southern gent I’ve ever known.’

Alec Baldwin, 64, also turned to social media to honor Jordan and called him a man of ‘wit and style and warmth.’

Meanwhile, fans laid flowers at the crash site mourning the beloved celebrity.

Officers with the Los Angeles Police Department told DailyMail.com that they received reports that a car crashed into a wall located at Romaine Street and Cahuenga Blvd about 9.30am.

A representative for Jordan announced his death on the actor’s social media page and asked fans to share their favorite memories of the star.

‘The love and light that Leslie shared will never go out and we invite you to share your memories and comfort each other during this time. In the coming days we will be giving a glimpse of a project Leslie was really proud of and was looking forward to sharing with the world.’
