NOTTINGHAM College has been placed on lockdown after a man was stabbed.

Cops said the man had suffered a single stab wound after a fight involving a "small group of youths" outside Nottingham College in Canal Street.

Three people were arrested after the knifing.

His injuries are not thought to be life-altering or life-threatening.

Students were told to stay inside the building after the stabbing at about 11:30am on Thursday, but they have now been asked to go home.

Officials say the decision to keep students inside was taken as a "measure of safety".

Three males, 16, 17 and 18, are being held on suspicion of affray, according to the BBC.

Two other males were also taken to hospital with minor injuries, police added.

A Nottinghamshire Police spokesperson said: “Officers were called to Canal Street, Nottingham, at 11.32am today following reports of a serious assault.

"A young male has been taken to hospital and is receiving treatment. A scene is in place while officers investigate the incident. Witnesses are asked to call 101 quoting incident 244 of 2 February 2023.”
