Police hunt Eton College gunman: Masked man takes aim at drivers just a mile from £42,000-a-year public school

Police are hunting a man wearing a Covid-style facemask who was threatening drivers with a suspected firearm in Eton Wick.
Eton College, which charges up to £46,296 per year in fees and counts Boris Johnson, David Cameron and Princes William among its former pupils, is just over a mile away.
The incidents took place between 9.30am and 10am in Bunces Close and Eton Wick Road on Wednesday.
The first victim, a man in his seventies, was driving along Bunces Close, near to the junction of Eton Wick Road, when an offender approached his car and pointed what appeared to be a small firearm at him. He heard a bang and the victim drove off.
He was not injured and his vehicle was not damaged.

Shortly after this, the second victim, a man in his sixties, was in his vehicle on Eton Wick Road when the same offender gestured towards him with the firearm. The victim drove away.
The offender is believed to have left the area in the direction of the River Thames, taking the footpath alongside the allotments on Eton Wick Road.
There was no evidence of any firearm discharge from subsequent specialist police searches in the area.
Officers are working to establish whether it was an air weapon or another type of firearm.
Thames Valley Police are appealing for witnesses and dash-cam footage.
The offender is described as a man of stocky build, between 5ft 9ins and 5ft 11ins tall, potentially aged in his thirties.
Thames Valley Police said the man was wearing black trousers, a dark coloured hooded top and black trainers with a Covid-style facemask covering his face. The police said that he may also have been wearing sunglasses.
Investigating officer, Detective Sergeant William Tippetts, of CID, said: ‘We understand that this incident will have caused concern for the local community and there was a large police presence locally whilst we carried out enquiries to identify the offender.
‘Please be reassured that we are carrying out a thorough investigation into this incident.
‘We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident, or who may have information about what happened to please come forward.
‘We’d also appeal to anyone who may have dash-cam footage of the local area, particularly any motorists or cyclists travelling along the Eton Wick Road between 9.30am and 10am, or anyone with personal CCTV or doorbell footage to please check in case it may have captured something that could assist our investigation.’
