A Royal Navy sailor is accused of sexually assaulting an RAF worker in the back of a taxi while their friends sat nearby, a court martial has heard.
Able Seaman Martyn Glover is alleged to have moved his hand up the woman’s thigh, pushed her underwear to the side and ‘inserted his fingers’ after she said ‘no, stop’.
She initially kissed AB Glover in the back of the cab, but the woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, allegedly turned away from the sailor and withdrew her consent.
The prosecution alleged in Bulford Military Court in Wiltshire yesterday that AB Glover said ‘come on’ as he proceeded to sexually assault her.
He denies one count of assault.

The prosecution alleged in Bulford Military Court in Wiltshire (pictured) yesterday that AB Glover said ‘come on’ as he proceeded to sexually assault her
The pair – who had had consensual sex together weeks earlier – visited several bars in Lincoln from nearby RAF Cranwell with a group of colleagues, the court heard.
At the end of the night, the group went home in a seven-seater taxi with AB Glover and his alleged victim alone on the back row of seats.
Initially, they kissed consensually, but the woman turned away before AB Glover put his hand on her thigh, the court heard.
Opening the case, Captain Daniel Lawlor, prosecuting, said: ‘[AB Glover] put his hand on her left thigh and moved it up her leg.
‘He moved his hand to her crotch and pushed her knickers to one side.
‘She said ”no, stop,” and faced the front of the taxi, withdrawing her consent.’
The prosecutor said AB Glover then said ‘come on’ before sexually assaulting her.
Giving evidence, the alleged victim told the court: ‘I was in the right-back-hand corner, and he was next to me. He leant in to kiss me and I initially kissed him back.
‘I then pulled away [and] he started kissing my neck. He started to touch my leg, he started moving it up and I said ”no, people are here”.’
‘I was trying to push his hand away, he went up and moved my knickers to the side. He inserted his fingers and I managed to close my legs. I snapped my legs together.
‘I felt so embarrassed.’
The court heard that after returning to camp, the group gathered in the woman’s room.
Later, after returning from the bathroom, the woman allegedly found AB Glover lying in her bed fully clothed.

The woman asked him to leave but he said no, and suggested they stay together in the bed, the court heard.
She allegedly sent a message to a male friend asking for help, telling him ‘this is not a joke’.
After some back and forth, the woman alleges AB Glover agreed to leave but seemed to be ‘in a bad mood’.
The woman’s friend arrived later on and she ‘broke down crying for two hours,’ the court was told.
She later attended a sexual assault referral centre and AB Glover – now based at HMS Nelson, Portsmouth – was interviewed by police under caution.
The trial continues.
