St Pancras Chambers Penthouse Apartment in London is a Grade I listed Gothic building which was designed by George Gilbert Scott in 1873

The flat is described as ‘some of the most dramatic living space that we have ever seen,’ by estate agents London House who are remarketing it after it failed to sell in 2021.

The website description continues: ‘With quite an extraordinary scale throughout all of the bedrooms and in particular the main reception, which is without question one of the most dramatic and unique private entertaining spaces in London.

‘What was once the water tower for the original hotel, this is a room that is both steeped in history and yet modern in its proposal.

‘The prominent and visually stunning exposed Victorian beams provide intimacy to this vast space and allow for separate areas for music, games, dining, TV, and most prominent of all, a large bar area for entertaining on a grand scale.

‘It is a simply stunning room and one of the great surprises of the London property scene.’

The mega-apartment features high ceilings, 24-hour security, two parking spaces and stunning rooftop views of London

The property’s kitchen measures in at a tiny 19.1 by 13.3 foot

The apartment consists of three bedrooms, a study and a dressing room on the sixth floor of the building, a kitchen, utility room, plant room and staff accommodation on the seventh floor and a spectacular open plan sitting/dining/entertaining room on the eighth floor

The entertainment room, which occupies the space of the former water tower of the building, also has a bar area and is one of the most dramatic and unique private entertaining spaces in London

The Grade I listed building has been visited by many famous faces including the Spice Girls who shot their music video for Wannabe there and Ed Sheeran once viewed the penthouse but decided it wasn’t his taste

The chambers count a number of celebrities among its residents, with supermodel Lily Cole putting her £4 million clocktower apartment on the market in 2021.

The Midland Hotel closed in 1935 and reopened as railway offices up until the 80’s.
