Terrified mum ‘kissed her kids goodbye’ after thug scrawled death threat on wall
A terrified mum “kissed her children goodbye” after her abusive boyfriend told her: "I’m going to put you in a grave.”
Michelle Bielby was convinced she would never see her kids again after vile thug Jake Jones used a crayon to scrawl "mummy is dead tonight, rest in peace” on her bathroom wall.
Jones then repeatedly strangled the young mother in a drunken rage at her home in Herne Bay, Kent.

The NHS worker who describes himself as a "hermit" had become convinced Michelle was texting another man and told her "if I can’t have you, nobody will".
But Jones, 31, was jailed for two-and-a-half years on Tuesday.
After sentence was passed, a relieved Michelle told KentOnline: "No sentence will ever be enough to erase the psychological trauma he put me and my babies through, but at least now we have closure and can continue to work towards moving on from it."
Michelle watched from a separate room as details of Jones' sickening campaign of abuse were revealed at Canterbury Crown Court.

The court heard how Jones, who worked at an NHS hospital for 14 years cleaning operating theatres, became drunk and abusive after downing eight pints of beer at her home in April 2022.
After calling Michelle "a slag," prosecutor James Harrison told the court, Jones “picked up her dinner plate and slammed it on the side, grabbed her by the throat and pushed her against the microwave” .
He destroyed some of Michelle's property – cutting up her debit card as well as smashing a perfume bottle and other items – and repeatedly strangled her.
The court was told that Jones then asked Michelle to tell him where her windpipe was, shouting “I can’t have you nobody will".
Michelle called the police after Jones passed out in a drunken stupor.

In a victim impact statement read to the court, Michelle described the events of that night: “I was forced to kiss my children goodbye because he was going to kill me.”
She said while she was in a relationship with Jones she had become a “shell of a person I did not recognise”, adding: “I lost who I was, I was an abused version of me.”
She said she felt gaslighted, “useless, stupid, disgusting, nobody else would ever want me”.
Jones, convicted following a trial in his absence in September last year, seemed nervous and distracted during the sentencing hearing.

Man strangled his wife to death because 'she failed to complete wifely duties'
Charles Hannaford, defending, said Jones launched the “unexplained and inexcusable” attack after believing Michelle was texting another man.
He said Jones described himself as “a hermit character” without any friends, who recognised he had a problem with alcohol and has now completely given up drinking.
Jailing Jones for 30 months, Judge Simon James described the attack as “prolonged” and said he left his victim “genuinely believing you intended to kill her in her own home”.
