Trump asked aide if hypothetical trans student had 'schlong': Book
‘What if a girl was in the bathroom and someone came in, lifted up a skirt, and a schlong was hanging out’: What Trump asked his adviser during crude scenario on transgender students using school bathrooms, book claims
- The excerpt is from NY Times journalist Maggie Haberman’s forthcoming book, ‘Confidence Man: The Making of Donald Trump And The Breaking Of America’
- Trump reportedly asked during town hall debate prep in 2016 whether a hypothetical female transgender student was ‘c***ed or dec***ed’
- When campaign aides didn’t understand what he meant, Trump reportedly made ‘a chopping gesture’ to explain his question
- Book also claims the former president went out of his way to say a different former campaign adviser ‘isn’t even like one percent gay’
The revelations come from New York Times journalist Maggie Haberman’s forthcoming book on Trump’s rise in the business world and later the political sphere
Donald Trump once questioned if a hypothetical female transgender student had a ‘schlong’ during debate preparations in the 2016 presidential race, a new book excerpt suggests on Wednesday.
The student was being roleplayed by then-campaign adviser Reince Priebus to help Trump practice a potential scenario in his town hall-style debate against Hillary Clinton in St. Louis, according to the excerpt published in The Daily Beast.
New York Times journalist Maggie Haberman reports on several instances of alleged homophobia and anti-LGBTQ comments in her forthcoming book, ‘Confidence Man: The Making of Donald Trump And The Breaking Of America.’
A week before he faced off against Clinton, Haberman writes, Priebus posed as a female transgender student who asked Trump whether she should be able to use the girl’s bathroom in school.
Trump asked whether the student in theory still had a penis.
‘C***ed or dec***ed?’ he reportedly inquired.
He allegedly sought to explain himself with ‘a chopping gesture’ upon being met with ‘blank’ confusion.
‘With c*** or without c***?’ Trump asked again.

When advisers asked why it mattered what genitalia the student had, the former president countered: ‘What if a girl was in the bathroom and someone came in, lifted up a skirt, and a schlong was hanging out?’
Haberman’s book reportedly details a long history of ‘lurid’ comments coming from Trump, with many reportedly believing he was ‘trying to shock’ in his interactions.

She claims that Trump had called around to reporters to find out whether anyone he knew was gay toward the beginning of the AIDS crisis.
A more recent excerpt claims he went out of his way to point out his former adviser Jason Miller’s degree of heterosexuality.
He apparently said Miller ‘likes the ladies’ during a meeting with them and former Vice President Mike Pence.
‘You know how sometimes someone turns out to be gay later and you knew? This guy, he isn’t even like one percent gay,’ Trump reportedly said of Miller.
Trump was filmed in March of this year telling a supporter he did not ‘look gay’ during a fundraiser at his Mar-a-Lago retreat in Florida.
The ex-president was headlining the event to support John Gibbs, a former Trump administration official who unseated Rep. Peter Meijer in Michigan’s August 2 Republican primaries.
One person can be heard shouting ‘Gays for Trump!’ seemingly in reference to the pro-Trump LGBT group of the same name, according to a video shared by Patriot Takes.
When the person identified himself, Trump quipped: ‘You don’t look gay.’
He continued, ‘We did great with the gay population as you know,’ before the 17-second clip ends.
Despite a small but vocal group of consistent supporters within the LGBTQI+ community, the former president was widely panned by gay and lesbian groups while in office.
A policy brief by LGBT medical research and advocacy group the Fenway Institute released toward the end of Trump’s presidency found that he ‘enacted more anti-LGBTQIA+ policies than any previous administration in history.’
