The next bank holiday in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland is the summer bank holiday.
This falls on August 29, 2022.
In Scotland, the summer bank holiday takes place weeks earlier on August 1, 2022.

The number of bank holiday days varies nation to nation, with Scotland and Northern Ireland having additional dates in their calendars.

But in England and Wales there are traditionally eight public holidays in a year.
However, an extra date was added in 2022, making the total NINE.
When are the bank holidays in 2022?
Brits were treated to an extra bank holiday in 2022 as the Queen celebrated an historic 70 years on the throne.
It was confirmed in March 2021, that the May Bank Holiday Weekend will be moved to Thursday, June 2, 2022, for Her Majesty's Platinum Jubilee.
An extra date was also added to the holiday calendar on Friday, June 3, 2022.

When are the bank holidays in 2023?
With a bit of planning it's possible to bag yourself an extended break by taking annual leave between bank holiday days.

Before you book time off, be aware your manager has to approve any holiday requests before you get time off.
Also make sure that you have enough holiday available and that you do not run out of days till the end of the year.

Full-time workers in the UK are legally entitled to 28 days of paid leave a year, including bank holidays.
