TRANSPORT Secretary Grant Shapps has worked in the Cabinet for both David Cameron and Boris Johnson.
Shapps has been the Conservative MP for Welwyn Hatfield since 2005.
Who is Grant Shapps?
Shapps was born on September 14, 1968, in Watford, Hertfordshire, to a Jewish family.
He grew up in the area and was educated at Watford Grammar School and Manchester Metropolitan University, studying business and finance.
Unlike Shapp's political career, his family are musicians – his cousin is Mick Jones who is a founding member of The Clash.
In 1999, Shapps was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma and underwent chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
Luckily, the treatment succeeded and by the following year the politician had finished chemotherapy and was cancer free.
This medical history meant that Shapps was the first Cabinet minister to receive the Covid vaccine in February 2021.
Shapps contracted Covid in a year later but made a full recovery.

What is Grant Shapps' net worth?
Shapps' net worth, according to LadBible is around $1.5million (£1.3m), making him one of the richest MPs.
This wealth comes from his longstanding role as an MP as well as many business ventures.
He founded his own printing company when he was 21.
Shapps stepped down as director in 2009 but remained the majority shareholder.

He also founded a web publishing business, How To Corp Limited, and remained director until 2008, with his wife taking over the position until it dissolved in 2014.
In February 2015, Shapps sought to clear up rumours of his businesses and said: "I don't have a second job and have never had a second job while being an MP. End of story."
The following month he admitted to having a second job while being an MP and working under a pseudonym.
What roles has Grant Shapps worked in?
After failing to win a seat in the 2001 election, Shapps was elected MP for Welwyn Hatfield in 2005 and retained the seat in 2010 and 2019.
Shapps publicly backed former PM David Cameron's bid for the leadership of the Conservative Party.
He worked as Shadow Housing Minister in 2007 before becoming Minister of State for Housing in the 2010 election.
In Cameron's first major reshuffle, in 2012, Shapps was appointed co-chairman of the Conservative Party.
During May 2015, the MP stepped down as minister for state and was sacked from the Cabinet due to bullying allegations which he had ignored.
The Remainer came back to the Cabinet as Transport Secretary in 2019, following Boris Johnson's election.
He retained this position in the 2020 and Cabinet 2021 reshuffles.
During the coronavirus pandemic he was responsible for the Government's travel traffic light system which put countries into red, amber and green categories and determined regulations were in place for UK travellers returning from those countries.
He announced in May 2020 a £250million plan to invest in cycle lanes and to trial e-scooters on UK roads.
Is Grant Shapps running for Prime Minister?
After Boris Johnson's resignation, Shapps announced he would be throwing his hat into the ring for leader of the Conservative Party and therefore PM.
His announcement came on July 9, 2022, along with a number of Tory MPs.
The race jumped up to 11 candidates, including Jeremy Hunt, Sajid Javid and Nadhim Zahwi.
Shapps dropped out on July 12 and instead pledged to support frontrunner Rishi Sunak.
Is Grant Shapps married and does he have any children?
Grant Shapps tied the knot with Belinda Goldstone in 1997.
She attended King David High School before studying at Leeds Metropolitan University.
Since 2009, Belinda has been a partner at AuctionGirl.co.uk – which promises users to "turn their clutter into cash".
She was by his side when he was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma in 1999.
In 2012, Shapps hailed his wife for her support during that time, telling the Guardian: "She said to me, you can't die, we've got too much to do together.
"She was brilliant."
