Woman fatally shot Sunday in Aurora’s Mission Viejo neighborhood

A woman has died after she was shot Sunday afternoon in Aurora, according to Aurora police.

Officers responded to a report of a shooting around 2:08 p.m. in the 4100 block of South Mobile Circle in the Mission Viejo neighborhood, according to the news release. There they found a 47-year-old woman who was shot inside of a house. She was sent to the hospital but later died from the injuries she had sustained.

The Aurora Police Major Crimes Homicide Unit investigators are looking for the suspect. No arrests have been made and no suspects have been identified.

Her identity has not been released yet. The Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office will release her identity after she is positively identified and her next of kin have been notified.

Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. Tipsters may remain anonymous and could be eligible for a reward worth up to $2,000.
