A WOMAN has been found dead in a home after police rushed to reports of a "serious assault" in Blackburn.
A man, 30, has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the tragedy at an address in the Mill Hill area on Saturday.
Cops were called to the property on Primrose Terrace amid reports of a serious attack at around 7.55am yesterday.
Officers then found the body of the woman and are now treating her death as suspicious.
The suspect remains in custody for questioning.
The woman's next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

Lancashire Police have said that they are not looking for anybody else in relation to the attack.
A spokesperson for the force said: "We were called at around 7.55am yesterday (Saturday, March 4) to reports of a serious assault in the Mill Hill area of Blackburn.
"The body of a woman was sadly found at an address on Primrose Terrace a short time late.
"Her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially-trained officers.

"An investigation has been launched and a 30-year-old man from Blackburn has been arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in police custody.
"At this time we are not looking for anyone else in connection with the death."
