Arched? Fluffy? And now, straight?

Our brow hairs aren’t growing fast enough to keep up with all these trends.

But suffice to say that ‘straight’ brows are having a moment.

Only, this isn’t a revival of the 20s pencil thin, drawn on straight line – this time, it’s a bit more permanent.

To get straight brows, you have to shave off (yes, with a razor) the ends of your brows where they arch, so they’re shorter and ‘straight’.

TikTokkers have said the look ‘lifts’ their face, but for the majority of us, it’s a bit too much of a commitment for a passing fad.

Clearly, gen z have learnt nothing from the overplucking mistakes made by their millennial predecessors.

So, if you don’t fancy literally shaving your brows off, there is a way around it, and it’s going to take a hell of a lot of concealer the darker your hair is.

Camilla Collins, makeup artist at CJC Hair & Makeup, who has fair hair which is most ideal for this hack, says: ‘Makeup artistry isn’t just for the pros – it‘s creativity and fun which is accessible to all.’

Calling this hack ‘easy’, she uses four products to get the look.

Explaining how to do it, Camilla says: ‘Here I’ve used some soap and a clean spoolie brush (mascara wand) to push the ends of my eyebrows in an upward direction.

‘Brushing the hairs upward creates a straighter brow line, and the soap flattens the hair to the skin to create a smooth, and seamless, surface.

‘After ensuring that the hairs are separated (to remove the hair texture of the end of my brow line), I’ve then gently patted on some foundation to blend in with my skin tone, and then re-defined the new “straight brow” shape with an eyebrow pencil.’

Her top tip is to get the hairs as flat as possible to the skin by using a lightweight creamy concealer or foundation, as heavy concealers will look too thick over the soap.
