Alec Baldwin formally charged in Halyna Hutchins’ death

Alec Baldwin’s wife Hilaria Baldwin issued a show of support for her husband on Tuesday (Jan. 31), as authorities officially charged him with involuntary manslaughter in the fatal 2021 “Rust” set shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.

“I hope you understand how much your support and kindness to Alec and our children mean,” Hilaria captioned a photo of the family, including their seven kids, on Instagram on Tuesday. “Thank you for being our community and our village. You are helping us to be stronger parents and partners during this unimaginable time, stemming from such heartbreaking tragedy. Please know that I hear all of your outspoken words and each and every one of you reminds me daily that there is kindness in the world and we are not alone.” In closing, she wrote, “Alec, we love you and we are here for you.”

Meanwhile, Santa Fe County District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies formally charged Alec, 64, and “Rust” armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, 25, with two counts each of involuntary manslaughter, according to People. In a statement, prosecutors said Alec “recklessly ignored” safety rules “on multiple occasions, resulting in the fatal shooting.” A summons will likely now be issued for Alec and Hannah ahead of a preliminary hearing, at which a judge will decide if the case should go to trial, CBS News reported Tuesday. Alec has repeatedly denied responsibility for Halyna’s death, saying he never pulled the trigger of the revolver he was holding while rehearsing a scene. Live ammunition is “forbidden on sets” as a rule, according to Reuters.

Ashton, 44, married Demi, 60, in 2005. They split in 2013 and according to Esquire, there are “no hard feelings” between the two. Ashton has also stayed close with his former step-daughters, Rumer, Scout and Tallulah Willis.

Pamela Anderson didn’t catch Tommy Lee’s last name until after their wedding

Wedding first, questions later … That was apparently the order of things for Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee in 1995. In yet another new revelation from her memoir, “Love, Pamela,” the “Baywatch” star writes that she had already eloped with Tommy in 1995 before she inquired about her new legal surname. “On the flight home, I asked him what our last name was, and he said, ‘Lee,'” Pamela writes. “I said, ‘Oh, I thought it was Tommy Lee … something. Jones?'”

The two had famously just met when they jetted off to Mexico together to make it official, a move Pamela says initially left her feeling “lost in a sea of love.” Her mother, however, was “furious,” Pamela recalls in the book, as excerpted by Page Six. “She couldn’t believe I had gotten married, cried that she had always dreamed of being at her only daughter’s wedding.”

Pam and Tommy, who share sons Brandon and Dylan, divorced in 1998. She went on to marry and (and get divorced) four more times, her most partner being Jon Peters, who recently told Variety he plans to leave her $10 million in his will.

Ron Howard remembers Cindy Williams’ ‘life spark and energy’

“Happy Days” stars Ron Howard and Anson Williams paid tribute to their late friend and colleague Cindy Williams this week after learning of her death at age 75. Best known for playing Shirley Feeney alongside Penny Marshall’s Laverne DaFazio on the long-running hit sitcom “Laverne & Shirley,” Cindy debuted her Shirley character on “Happy Days” a few years prior.

“It was a shocker to hear of Cindy’s passing,” Ron told ET on Monday (Jan. 30). “I remember her life spark and her energy. I saw her last year in Palm Springs at an event and still saw that sparkle in her eyes. It’s so hard to imagine that she’s gone.” He went on to recall their “chemistry” onscreen in 1973’s “American Graffiti” and in 1974’s “The Migrants.” “Cindy wanted to be remembered for her range of characters that she created — different tones and different styles,” said the director. “She admired Carol Burnett for these qualities. Cindy had so much talent and she settled for none of the ‘Hollywood traffic’ — she just did her work.”

Anson Williams, who played Potsie on “Happy Days,” said in a statement that he was “devastated” by Cindy’s death. “The only thing bigger than her talent was her heart,” he continued. “She walked the walk of kindness, a giver never a taker, a star who made everyone she touched a bigger star. Her television and film performances will entertain for years to come, but her love for people will be paid forward for generations to come. Rest Peace beautiful lady. I love you.”

A rep for Cindy’s family confirmed the actress died after a brief illness on Jan. 25.

Marc Maron slams Academy for investigating Andrea Riseborough’s Oscar nomination

Marc Maron accused the Academy of bowing to corporate interests amid news the organization was “investigating” the Oscar campaign that earned Andrea Riseborough a Best Actress nod this year. Andrea, Marc’s co-star in “To Leslie,” was reportedly nominated after Mary McCormick’s grassroots campaign took off, inspiring stars like Edward Norton, Jennifer Aniston and Charlize Theron to vouch for her talent in social media posts or by hosting screenings of her film.

“Apparently, the Academy of Motion Picture Sciences or whatever the f*** it is has decided to investigate Andrea Riseborough’s grassroots campaign to get her the Oscar nomination. Because I guess it so threatens their system that they’re completely bought out by corporate interests in the form of studios,” Marc said on his show, according to Variety.

“Millions of dollars [are] put into months and months of advertising campaigns, publicity, screenings by large corporate entertainment entities and Andrea was championed by her peers through a grassroots campaign which was pushed through by a few actors,” Marc said in his scathing sound-off. “The Academy is [like], ‘Well, we gotta take a look at this. This is not the way it’s supposed to work. Independent artists don’t deserve the attention of the Academy unless we see how it works exactly.'” He went on to predict her nomination wouldn’t be rescinded and said the campaign was conducted “in earnest,” adding, “But I’m glad the Academy — at the behest of special interest and corporate interest and paranoia about how they look — are doing an investigation.”

Marc’s prediction turned out to be on-target. On Tuesday, the Academy announced its board had decided Andrea’s nomination will stand, according to ET.

Austin Butler opens up about his close, ‘immediate’ bond with Lisa Marie Presley

Austin Butler is still in awe of the immediate, strong connection he shared with Lisa Marie Presley, who died on Jan. 12 at age 54. “I first met Lisa when we screened the film [‘Elvis’] at Graceland,” the actor told Jimmy Fallon on “The Tonight Show” on Monday (Jan. 30), looking back on his work on the Elvis Presley biopic. “I’ve never had an experience where I met somebody and felt an immediate depth of relationship with them,” he continued, adding that Lisa showed him the bedroom where her late father slept at his famous estate, something “most people never get to see.”

As for his quick bond with Lisa, Austin said, “She’s a person who didn’t have anything to prove and wouldn’t open up to anybody and she opened up to me. We got so close so fast and it’s just devastating.”
