Alison Hammond melts hearts as she reveals Josie Gibson joins Christmas dinner every year

Alison Hammond has revealed her work pal and co-star Josie Gibson is coming to her home for Christmas dinner for the second time this year.

The This Morning presenter, who hosts the ITV daytime show with Dermot O'Leary every Friday, has also become really friendly with roving reporter-turned-understudy Josie on the show.

The pair get on so well, that Birmingham-born Alison, 47, has invited the 37 year old Gloucester star and her son to join her and her family for a festive feast on Christmas Day.

Speaking on the Table Manners podcast, Alison spilled all her Christmas plans to Jessie Ware and her mum Lennie.

"This year, I have quite a big household," she began. "My brother will be there, my son, Josie always comes with her little boy."

Shocked by the prospect of the two ladies hanging out over Christmas, Jessie exclaimed: "Does she? I love her!"

"Yes, so she was there last year and she's here this year. Then I've got my housemate Jason and his dog Bobby and that's it this year," the TV host added.

As well as carving out a new annual tradition for the time of giving, Alison ensures her guests have everything they could possibly want in a festive meal.

Josie showed her followers the details with a series of pictures from their Christmas dinner last year.

Alison also gets up at 5am to make sure the turkey is cooked to perfection ready for the 1pm mealtime.

The presenter creates the most delicious spread, which includes more than one meat, roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings and various vegetables.

"Never had a Christmas dinner like it. Best Christmas dinner ever," the This Morning star said at the time.

The duo have lots in common, including both getting their big break on reality TV show Big Brother, and both are single parents to their sons.

Alison opened up about her close friendship with Josie in an exclusive interview with OK!, revealing that they're "really close" and spoke to each other "every day during lockdown" in 2020.

Sharing the sentiment, Josie agreed: "Alison actually got me through lockdown. She was there for me on the phone every night, and we decided to get very spiritual together.

“I love her. Being around Alison is like having a permanent hug," the star added.
