Amanda Holden shuts down claim of ‘rift’ with Holly Willoughby

Amanda Holden cheekily mocks Holly Willoughby’s comeback

Amanda Holden has confirmed there is no feud with Holly Willoughby after reports claimed there was growing tension between the pair following Phillip Schofield’s exit from This Morning.

The Britain’s Got Talent judge has refuted the claims as “utter rubbish” as she released a statement on Instagram today.

In view of her two million followers, Amanda, 52, explained she will keep her statement up over the next few hours in a bid to put things into perspective and add “truth”.

She wrote: “Sadly strong and intelligent women have far too long been pitted against one another when we should all be celebrated in our own right.”

Amanda explained that the rumoured “rift simply does not exist” adding there have been some “huge assumptions made this week and everyone has feasted on them”.

She went on to say articles addressing women nowadays are “laughable” and is different from the coverage of men.

Amanda concluded: “Women are still expected to say nothing, suffer silently and just get on with it. And we do… mostly.”

“We are becoming a world which is gradually being eroded of all its best qualities – humour, backbone and truth.”

Amanda’s statement comes after the on-screen star was accused of mocking Holly, 42, when she shared a video on the picture-sharing site earlier this week.

The Heart FM presenter sported a white jumpsuit which looked strikingly similar to the ITV host’s attire on Monday’s show.

Returning to the show for the first time since Phillip Schofield’s departure following his affair with a younger male colleague, Holly asked viewers: “Right, deep breath. Firstly, are you OK? I hope so.”

Taking to her Instagram stories the next day, Amanda shared a video wearing a white jumpsuit and asked her two million followers: “Hello, it is Tuesday. Are you OK?”

It was claimed the tongue-in-cheek remark was aimed at Holly who received a mixed response over her comeback statement.
